This puppet show, offered only in the suburbs of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania is a hit with children under age seven. All of the animals appearing in this traveling "petting zoo" are puppets. As such they are more colorful, lively, expressive, funny and interactive than live animals.
For giggly fun, this show surpasses petting zoos and live rabbits and doves used by other magicians. And there is the same wonderment as with traditional dove or rabbit magic, because Abby produces and vanishes puppets with the same awe-inspiring techniques that magicians use with live animals. The puppets are safe to touch, and one of the tamer ones lets the children pet him. Their reactions are just precious. The puppets are as clean as animals get, producing no droppings, and each puppet comes out one at a time so as not to overwhelm the smallest members of the audience. Abby has lots of experience with puppetry and training in puppetry including workshops from Mister Puppet.
In this picture notice the audience's body language. They start out seated, but they jump up with exclamations and chortles in response to the puppet's antics. This is a typical audience reaction. (Please note that the puppet show, like all of Abby's shows, takes place indoors. Any outdoor pictures were taken years ago when she still worked outside.)
