Balloon Sculpture Calculators

If you are considering having balloon sculptures at your event, you'll need to decide how fancy the sculptures will be, how much time to allot for them and how many children to invite so nobody goes away empty-handed. The calculators on this page are designed to help you with these decisions. The pale yellow calculators are for time-consuming balloon designs. The pink calculators are for fast designs.

The calculations on this page are based on Abby's personal balloon twisting speed. The calculations may or may not apply to other balloon twisters.

For Complex Sculptures

If you want complex, time-consuming, multi-balloon, multi-color sculptures such as helicopters, turbans, and hummingbirds, use these calculators.

Calculate how much time to allot for complex designs How many sculptures per child? How many children age 3 or older* will be at the party? This takes minutes, or hours in addition to the show. Don't have that much time? It takes less time with simple, fast designs, as you'll see using the pink calculators below.

Calculate how many children to invite for complex designs How many minutes do you have for balloon sculpting? How many sculptures would you like per child? children age 3 or older* can be accommodated with complex sculptures. With more than that number of children, there are 4 possible outcomes: 1) Get small, fast sculptures (use the pink calculators below), 2) or invite fewer children so that everyone gets a balloon, 3) or book Abby for more time so that she can cover everyone, 4) or some children miss out when Abby must leave for the next party (an outcome we all prefer to avoid).

For Simple Sculptures

For faster, simpler, one-color sculptures such as flying mice, swords and dogs, use these calculators.

* Children under age 3 need a plastic toy instead of a latex balloon. Abby brings these toys so that those under age 3 will have a hard plastic so-called unpoppable balloon of their own.

Too many guests to get through the line in the time alotted?

Not to worry. The balloons below will not require waiting in line, as you order them pre-assembled. Just pop the balloon that joins them, and give them out. The cheese with mice disassembles into 20 flying mice, which kids can shoot into the air. The wreath of balloon corsages disassembles into 20 wrist corsages to wear.
