Many magicians perform for corporations, bars, and comedy clubs, performing more for adults than for children. Abby the Magician is different. For over a decade (since 1997) she has been specializing exclusively in children's party entertainment, and it shows in her ability to delight, captivate and manage such audiences. She has worked in all kinds of children's entertainment settings.
She likes birthday parties because they lend themselves to sentimental routines alongside awe-inspiring and comical ones. Abby has spent a decade developing shows only for kids and their parents. She has taken five semester-long courses to develop material: a full magician's course, two college-level stand-up comedy courses, and two clown courses. She has training in stage magic and parlor magic through the generous contributions of her mentors at International Brotherhood of Magicians Ring 6 and the Magician's Alliance of the Eastern States. Every year she extends her education with regular study at conferences, such as the Kidabra Conference of Kid Show Entertainers and the Twist and Shout Convention for balloon twisters. She has lots of other education too, including a master's degree from the Johns Hopkins University in Social Psychology. Knowledge of this field proves helpful for shaping audience behavior at parties. To read testimonials from previous customers, click here.
